Lucha Britannia is derived from a Mexican form of wrestling. It combines the Lucha Libre style of wrestling characterised by  colourful masks, rapid sequence holds, tag-teams and ‘high-flying’ with the traditional British technical style and the Japanese Puroresu wrestling format. Aside from wrestling, events also include cabaret performances, comedic interludes and side acts.

Performances loosely fit into a fantastical ‘RetroFuture’ narrative wherein a fractious band of outlawed ‘prize-fighters’ battle against tyrannical rulers in a futuristic dystopia.
